A delegation of World Bank met Livestock Minister Arumugam Thondaman at Livestock Ministry recently and discussed assistance provided by the World Bank to control bird flu and animal disease. 


The World Bank has been providing financial aid to control bird flu and animal diseases through the Live Stock and Rural Development Ministry.


Since the Live Stock Health Department has brought Bird flu and animal diseases successfully under control. The World Bank Assistance has been extended until 2014. It will provided 5 million dollars for next couple of years.
