Trincomalee Pathirakali Ambal Ther

Thousands of devotees from all parts of the island flocked to Trincomalee to take part in the annual Trincomalee Parthiakaali Ambal Ther festival today, Wedenesday, April 4.

The Trincomalee Pathirakali Ambal is hailed as one of the Ellai Kali Amman temples founded by Kullakottan in early times.

Hundreds of youths performed angaparatnam ( rolling oneself clockwise), while female devotees did the customary adi alithal in the outer precincts of the temple with devotion for the fulfillment of their vows. Devotees were singing hymns for Ambal during the religious ceremony.
