The Ratha Pavany, the car festival of Kandy Sri Selva Vinayagar Kovil took place recently. The chariots were taken round along the streets of Kandy during the ceremony at which Hindus and Buddhists participated in hundreds. Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake received kalanchi from the High Priest. The trustee of the temple G.Krishnamoorthy was guest of honour.
