President at Jafffna Central College

President Mahinda Rajapakse has observed that sports pave the way for peaceful co-existence. It develops the personality of a student. The government wants to develop sports facilities in both the urban and rural areas.
President Mahinda Rajapakse made the observations after a swimming pool was declared open at the Jaffna Central College which was established in 1800. Parliamentarian Namal Rajapakse, the Chairman of Tharunyatta Hetak organization. Jafna Bishop Rev. Thomas Saundaranayagam was also present. The Swimming Pool with a length of 25 meters and a width of 125 metres was built at a cost of 17 million. |
