Pope Benedict XVI celebrated his 85th birth day in Vatican on Monday. Sri Lanka, Palestine ink two agreements

Sri Lanka and Palestine signed two bilateral agreements on April16, following the two day official visit by Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas. Earlier, President Rajapakse and President Abbas held bilateral talks. Officials of both countries took part.

The avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of Fiscal evasion with respect to Taxes on income between the two countries is one agreement. The other was a protocol on the political consultations between the Ministry of External Affairs of Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Palestine.
