Sampanthan meets Rajapakse

Tamil National Alliance Leader R.Samapnthan called at Temple Trees and held talks with President Mahinda Rajapakse yesterday. Their discussions covered a wide range of issues including the TNA’s participation in the Parliamentary Select Committee, the progress in the Government- Tamil National Alliance Talks to resolve the national issue.
Sampanthan met President Rajapakse following an invitation by the Head of State. President Rajapakse underlined the need for the TNA’s participation at the PSC for that was the best forum to find a solution with a consensus of all stake holders. He urged Sampanthan to submit the names of TNA’s nominees to the PSC, reports say.
These reports further indicated that Sampanthan explained to Rajapakse that it had already been agreed for TNA to take part in the PSC following a consensus being reached at the Government Tamil National Alliance Talks. TNA is committed to continue the dialogue with the government for the resolution of the ethnic issue. |
