Diamond Jubilee of Queen’s Accession to Throne  

UK celebrated the 60th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth to the British Throne today.  There were 41 gun salute at the Hyde Park and 62 gun salute at the Tower of London.  Queen usually spent the day in private since that marks the day her father GeorgeVI passed away on that day in 1952.

“ I am dedicated anew for to your service. I am deeply moved by the support extended. I hope we will be reminded of the power of togetherness.”., 85 year old Queen observed. She has seen 12 Prime Ministers in her reign, the twelfth being the present Prime Minister David Cameron.

One of the two photographs released by the Buckingham Palace is an impressive photo of Queen Elizabeth and Duke of Edinburgh attired in Royal dress radiating magnificience, dignity and honour.
