 A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court seeking an order restraining Yusuf Raza Gilani from holding the post of Prime Minister after being convicted for contempt of Court.
The petition states that Gilani could not hold the portfolio of Prime Minister after being convicted by a Court. It is a violation of Article 199 (b) of the Constitution of Pakistan to hold office and enjoy facilities after conviction. Meanwhile, a lawyer of the Supreme Court has also sent a legal notice.
