Meelad Festival in Madawela

The annual Meelad Festival and prize Day was held recently under the patronage of Madawela Gathymul Ummah Welfare Centre in Kandy district.

The sacred Prophet Mohamed’s birthday is celebrated as Meelad Day annually. Deputy Minister of Tourism A.R.M. Abdul Cader was the Chief Guest. Central Provincial Council Member M.R.M.Ajizath was the Guest of Honour. Chief Guest Abdul Cader appealed to the Muslim people to live according to the tenets of Islam and build a society based on high values.
