Manmohan, Pradeepa skip Global Buddhist Conference
Indian President Pradeepa Patel and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh have refrained from attending the sessions of the Global Buddhist Conference held in Delhi respecting the sensitivity of China.
Earlier, China has informally objected to Dalai Lama delivering address at the Conference for that would mean India lending him a platform against China. India refused to stop the event holding that it respects freedom of expression. Consequently border talks between China and India have been put off.
