The 125th anniversary of Sivahama Gnanabanu Kumaraswamy Kurukal was held at Atchuvely Sarawathy Vithyasalai. The convener was Sivasiri K. Y.K Vytheeswara Kurukal. The highlight of the event was the release of four books authored by Kumaraswamy Kurukal and reprinted recently.
Siva Sri Dhanu Mahadeva Kurukal, Sivasri Visvanarayana Sarma, Nallai Aatheena Muthalvar Srilasri Somasunthara Paramasariya Swamigal graced the occasion. Nallai Aatheenam Head honoured Vytheeswara Kurukal by draping him with a traditional shawl.
 Emeritus Professor P.Gopalakrishna Iyer chaired. Professor M.Vethanathan, Professor S.Sivalingarasa, Deputy Directress of Hindu Affairs Department Hemalogini Kumaran and others participated. At the outset of the event, the portrait of Kumaraswamy Kurukal was taken on a procession from Uyawitkulam Sithy Vinayagar Temple to the venue of the meeting.
