Holy Maha Sivarathry was observed with devotion by Hindus at the sacred shrine of Thirukoneswaram on Monday, February 2oth night. Hindus observed fast and kept all night vigil chanting hymns to Lord Shiva and His consort Parvathy and praying.

 

The devotees eagerly longed for the holy Lingodbava Pooja that marks the elimination of ego and bestows moksha. The Chief Priest Sri Muthukumarasamy Kurukal Shanmugaratna Kurukal performed the poojas. There were cultural programmes.
