France is likely to have a socialist President to lead the country after a long interval of seventeen years.
French Socialist Party Leader Francois Hollande leads in the first round of polls for the Presidency of France. He has secured 28.63% votes with the incumbent President Nicolas Sarkozy, Leader of the Far Right National Front, being pushed to the second place. The average turn out of voters was 79.47.
He is tipped to get a majority in the second round of the polls to be held in May. |
