North Korea's Rocket Launch

On Friday morning, North Korea launched its Unha-3 (Galaxy) long-range rocket in defiance of UN Security Council resolutions. The launch was meant to be the centerpiece of nationwide celebrations of the centenary of the birth of Kim Il-sung, founder of the nation and grandfather of the new leader Kim Jong-eun. North korea says launch is to monitor crops and weather. The US, South Korea and Japan have denounced saying it is a smokescreen for Pyongyang to extend the firepower of its ballistic missiles.

Aanmiga Ratham’ book launched

 

‘Aanmiga Ratham’ book authored by Santhirasekarampillai Jeyachandran was launched at the Trincomalee Pathirakali Amman temple after the new year pooja on April13.

 

‘The Atheeenalkartha of the temple Srilasiri Vethakamamany Ravi Chandra Kururkal delivered the key note address after honouring the author and his wife Kamalaloginy in a traditional manner.

 

Gandhi Periyar P.Kandiah, Arulneri Mantra Founder-Trustee of the Kalahasthy temple in Kappalthurai Thondar E.Shanmugaraja and Trincomalee Urban Council Chairman K.Selvarajah received the special copies.

 

Author Jeyachandran, a son of the Trincomalee soil and presently living in Canada, depicts the life and mission of saints and religious leaders Swamy Satchithananda, Swamy Satchithananda Matajy, Swamy Gengatharananda, Appukuttan, Poorana Kurukal, Ghanthy Periyar P.Kandiah, Sivapala Yogy and others.
