Fuel price hike; Central Provincial UNP Councilors protest

UNP members of the Central Provincial Council protested against the fuel price hike by carrying placards and shouting slogans while attending the sittings of the Council.

 Councilors Zainulabdeen Labeer, Chitra Mandilal Alwis and Shanthiny Gongaghe took part in the agitation.

The Chair refused permission for such conduct resulting in an interruption of the proceedings of the Council. Later, they were permitted after normalcy returned.
