‘Art, Literature, History of Trincomalee’ book launched  

The research book on the topic " Art,Literature ,History of Trincomalee" written by Thirumalai Navam, a former Principal of Orr's Vivekananda College, Trincomalee, was released at an event held in Trincomalee St.St. Joseph's College auditorium Sunday.

R.Prabagaran, Chief Editor of Virakesary, premier Tamil daily presided. He accepted the first copy from the author and released it.

Professor Emeritus A.Shanmugathas of Jaffna University delivering the keynote address observed that a study of Sinhala works during the period between the 4th century Ad and 13th century AD can shed some light on the development of Tamil literature during the period. Research in the Sinhala medium can enrich the survey in Tamil. Efforts must be made to compile the literary work in Tamil in Trincomalee during the intervening period.
