TNA meets Tamil civil society

Tamil National Alliance held a meeting with the Tamil Civil Society at Vavuniya on Saturday following a request by the Tamil Civil Society. TNA delegation was led by TNA Leader R.Sampanthan while the other delegation was headed by Mannar Bisho0p Rayappu Joseph. Earlier they had sebt a letter to the TNA alleging that the TNA had not divulged the nature of the talks with the government and the progress made so far.
TNA Leader Samapnthan explicitly stated that he was not taking part in the talks with the government upholding any dogmas or raising any slogans. His concern is finding a just, reasonable, fair and durable solution that will ensure the Tamil people their fundamental right to self rule in their original habitat and to manage their own affairs, economic, political, social cultural etc within a united Lanka.
He stressed that he was prepared to discuss their proposals with all political parties and all communities to ensure a solution. He assured that the solution they arrive at will never be a betrayal of the cause of the Tamils. He underlined that they urge an acceptable solution that satisfies the aspiration of the Tamil people as well.
TNA Parliamentarians Suresh Pemachandran, Selvam Addaikalanathan, E.Saravanapavan, A.Vinayagamoorthy, Sivasakthy Anandan, Vinoharatha Lingham, S.Sritharan, and M.A.Sumanthiran also participated.
