No blind folded decisions; Hakeem on EP polls

Sri Lanka Muslim Congress Leader Rauff Hakeem has observed that his party will not take decisions blindfolded in regard to its role in the forth coming Eastern Provincial Council polls. The interest of the Muslim community and good governance will be uppermost.

Rauff Hakeem made these observations addressing a meeting held in Dehiyawatha, Kandy in the Ampara district to form a women’s wing of the party. He added that SLMC would be a force to be reckoned with whether we have an alliance with the government or not for the election in the Eastern Province. The party high command has deliberated for days. We have met President Rajapakse and discussed our issues in detail. He has given a patient hearing. We intend meeting him again and also Minister Basil Rajapakse. We have submitted our proposals in black and white to the government.  Our decision will be based on their response to our proposals.
