Joint opposition May Day rally was held in in  St.Roche’s Ground,Jaffna on Tuesday.

TNA Leader R.Sampanthan presided.TNA leader Sampanthan waved a national flag amidst cheers from the gathering that comprised Tamils, Muslims and Sinhalese. United National Party, Tamil National Alliance, Democratic People’s Front, United Socialist Party, Nava Sinhala Uramaya and fourteen other organizations from the South participated.

Ban urges Lanka to implement LLRC recommendations

JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva urged for an anti- imperialist movement to safeguard the island from western conspiracies. He was addressing the JVP meeting held at BRC Grounds.

Leader Somawanse Amerasinghe attended the meeting. Speakers highlighted destruction to imperialism and liberation of the people, destruction to capitalism and victory for socialism.
