JVP Political Bureau member and Parliamentary Group Leader Anura Kumara Dissanyake stated that the rise in crimes is the result of collapse of economy in the country.
He was addressing a press meeting in Colombo. He went on that social decline has caused these problems. There must be political transformation. Ruling party should not defend supporters when they commit offences. The law enforcement authorities must be free to act.
