Community Based Disaster Risk Management plan for 2 villages in Trincomalee district

The German Red cross funded Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) Programme is being implemented in Pathinipuram, in Thampalakamam DS division and Naduoothu in Kinniya DS division by Sri Lanka Red Cross society, Trincomalee (SLRC ) collaborating with District Disaster Management Coordination Unit (DDMCU), Trincomalee.

The ceremonial events for handing over the CBDRM plan and Search and Rescue equipments to the villagers held in both villages on 31.01.2012.

Kumara Tennakoon, Divisional Secretary, Thampalakamam DS division, Dr.G.Gunalan, Chairman of SLRC, Dr.Antony Gnanamuthu, Resident Representative of German Red cross, Najeeb Abdul Majeed, former Trincomalee district parliamentarian and a former Minister and Chaminda Amaraweera ,Asst Director of DDMCU participated in the event.
