India launches Agni V

India has announced the successful launching of Agni V with a range of 5,000 kilo meters, at 8.04 am off Odisha coast on Thursday, April 19. It has made a giant leap and joined the nations that are capable of Inter- Continental Ballistic Missiles such as US, Russia, France and China, observers say.

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh hailed it as’ mile stone’, while an elated Defence Minister Antony observed; ‘ India stands tall’.
