Supreme Court is to hear the petition seeking an order to invalidate the GCE Advanced Level examination on May 10. The petitioners are the Ceylon Teachers’ Union and sixteen students. The petition seeks an order to declare that the results of the GCE AL examination 2011 are null and void.


The Bench comprises of Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayaka, Justice N.G.Amaratunga and Justice P.A.Ratnayaka.


Counsel J.C.Weliammuna with Senani Dayaratne instructed by Sanjeeva Kaluaraachi appeared for the petitioners. Counsel Faisz Musthapha with Kushani Alwis and Faiza Markar Musthapha instructed by Thushari Jayawardena appeared for the University Grants Commission.
